COSTUMES FOR KIDS
MISSION STATEMENT

Costumes for kids started in April 2000 as a way to provide low-income public school children in NYC a chance to get the same services as private school students:
*School costumes for pageants or plays *Holiday attire for schools who could not afford it (i.e. Santa Clause) *Smocks or other active wear for school children in the arts Now Costumes for Kids has taken a new direction. We now provide art and design workshops plus custom design school uniforms for public school children, after school centers, and community centers in NYC along with our regular services. All children are allowed to participate in this program but special pricing is implemented for low-income sectors of NYC. Child Art and Design Workshops include the following: *Introduction to beading and Jewelry design *Beginners knit and crochet *Intro to hand sewing *Intro to t-shirt and bag design *Intro to pillow and teddy bear design We host these design workshops within the schools or centers where the children are located and we provide worksheets and lesson plans to the teachers to follow along and assist before workshop is given. These workshops not only provide much needed self-esteem thru project achievement but also help children develop motor skills and improve eye and hand coordination. All materials are provided to the children and prices range per session. Standard rates are available for year round or weekly sessions. Special pricing for low-income sectors of NYC.
